SALSA is the supplier approval scheme designed to help local and regional food and drink producers supply their products to national and regional buyers. It is a low
cost, practical route for small businesses to gain access to markets previously only open to companies with the BRC standard.
The scheme is endorsed by DEFRA, the BRC, NFU, FDF, British Hospitality, Scottish Food & Drink and the Food Standards Agency. It is widely supported by many of the UK’s leading food buyers from the retail and foodservice sectors including ASDA, 3663, Elior and a growing number of major groups.
